Comparison
Postdrome vs Migraine Monitor
Migraine Monitor is free and built around connecting your record to your doctor. It is also stale, ad-supported, and its privacy policy reserves the right to sell de-identified data. Worth a clear-eyed comparison, including correcting one common myth about it.

Choose Migraine Monitor if
You want a free app focused on a doctor-connection report, you do not mind ads, and the data-sale clause and the lack of updates are acceptable to you.

What it does well, and one correction
Migraine Monitor is free, and its central idea is sound: build a record and connect it to your doctor, with a PDF report as the main deliverable and automatic weather correlation alongside it. For someone who wants a no-cost tracker oriented around the clinical conversation, that is a reasonable pitch.
One correction worth making, because it is widely repeated: Migraine Monitor is not an official American Migraine Foundation app. The AMF lists it in a resource library among other trackers, including Migraine Buddy and N1-Headache, in neutral language. Being listed is not being endorsed or co-developed.
The gaps are real
Three things to weigh. First, Migraine Monitor has not been updated since 2023, so it is effectively frozen. Second, it is ad-supported. Third, and most important, its privacy policy reserves the right to sell de-identified data, which is the sharpest data posture in this field. Even de-identified, that is a different deal from an app that never sells anything.
It is also attack-centric, organized around logging headaches, so it does not advertise postdrome-phase modeling, and we found no dedicated support for headache-free vestibular attacks.
A free app is not free if the price is the right to sell your record.
The contrast with Postdrome
Postdrome is the opposite trade on data: health data stays in your own iCloud and is never sold, with no ads and no research-data program. It is actively developed, and it models the continuous pattern, the postdrome phase, and vestibular attacks that an attack-centric logger does not.
Both produce a doctor report. The difference is everything around it.
